The terrorist attacks by the RAF in the Federal Republic reached their alarming climax in the German autumn of 1977. Gerhard Richter in his paintings collection "October 18, 1977" describes the farewell to the illusion that a new world can be created with the means of terror, 'Knock out' numbers these pictures as the starting point.
